Ladies and Gentlemen...I present Cofisher's Cheezedoodle! And, for your flying tying pleasure I am going to attempt a feat of daring do..post step by step instructions to tie Cofisher's Cheezedoodle.
Materials:
1 hook
1 package of Frigo Cheeseheads cheese sticks
(I recommend the sharp cheddar rather than the light cheddar)
Thread to match the color of the type cheese you use
Rubber leg material (your choice of colors)
1 purple maribou feather
Several bits of flash material of your choice
(4) Tear off a chunk of cheese to suit your taste. (pun, sorry!) Warm cheese until it is pliable and and shape to look like a Cheese Doodle. As the cheese hardens, you shouldn't have to tie it in.
(5) Before the cheese hardens, tie in several strands of flash behind the head to the start of the hook bend.
(5) Before the cheese hardens, tie in several strands of flash behind the head to the start of the hook bend.
(6) Whip finish
Fishing instructions: Don't worry if the Cheezedoodle doesn't float. It might or it might not. Doesn't matter. As the old say goes, "Bet they can't eat just one!"

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteyou may have found that one that will catch them all, and maybe even a mouse or two.
Great post Howard! I needed that!
Mmmmmm.... Cheeeezzzzzeeee....
ReplyDeleteAll I have is string cheese. Will that work?
ReplyDeleteNow that is cheesy.
ReplyDeleteJosh: Thanks! I think this is one I can use on the Big T.
ReplyDeleteMike: This fly is 100% endorsed by Homer S.
Clif: Actually, I think string cheese may work better than Cheesehead...something to do with the Elmer's they add to string cheese.
AFA: Color me Brie!
This is a much better use of cheese than the more traditional use of eating it (bleh)!

Stephanie: You're obviously not a guy. This is a great fly for fishing or for eating! Ask Dustin. Fishing, food and sex (not necessarily in that order) are all we think about. I'm working on combining all three...stand by for that.
ReplyDeleteTMI !!!!! Where's the peanuts, popcorn and crackerjacks? I'm ready for spring training...batter up! See how you are...go bait fishing, and now your mind is on "cheesedoodles"! I was afraid of this.
ReplyDeleteRD: My wife told me that I'm the only person she knows who could go fishing and gain weight. As for baseball, there are no cheerleaders...it's Un-American!
ReplyDeleteI'd try tying those, but honestly, the cheese would never get on the hook. Get in my belly!
ReplyDeleteTrust me Mike, the original recipe called for strips of pepperoni for the tail. Didn't make it!
ReplyDeleteThe comments here are better than the article. What a group!
ReplyDeleteHey Clif, that cut me deep. The comments almost stand alone don't they?
ReplyDeleteOk, I am glad that you just kind of had to "mold" the cheese on the hook. I wasn't sure how you were going to "cut the cheese" if you needed too!
ReplyDeleteWhy Mel, just XXXX it! expletive deleted.
