I'd like to introduce my friend, Mickey the Mysis Shrimp. Mickey has been a visitor to my tying desk for awhile now, just hanging around giving me in-spiration. I posted a photo of Mickey on the Windknots Facebook page a few days ago and asked (half kidding) what he was. The answer came back quickly from Nick Harmeier, a Mysis. Why didn't I see that?
Dean Wormell, of Gin Clear blog took it a step further and suggested that "He looks like Olive's (the Woolly Bugger) boyfriend. Maybe he can get a bit role in the movie."
Well, that sounded like a fun idea to me and Mickey
agreed. I 've thought about this idea and even considered writing my own screen play, but I realize that just because you've been called juvenile and immature does not mean you have the skills to write a children's book.
So, I am appealing to Windknots readers to help Mickey by dropping a note to Kirk Werner, author and fly fisherman Unaccomplished and ask him to give Mickey a shot at fame along with Olive. Who knows what this great venture could bring. You can contact Kirk at kirk@itchydogproductions.com.

Sure... you get all buddy buddy with Kirk and then you try to slip him a "Mickey".

A Mickey like no other...cheers!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid if I did slip Kirk a Mickey, no one would notice!
ReplyDeleteSander...cheers!
Oh no, what have I started. One starts getting crazy ideas when they don't spend enough time on the water.
ReplyDeleteKirk, all bookings go through Micky's agent (me).
Dean, I think your idea was brilliant! If Kirk is paying attention, he'll give it some thought. Loving relationships is a good message. Diversity is a good message.
