Passing on the spirit...

I recently had the honor of being awarded the Versatile Blogger Award compliments of Matt of coloradocastersblog.  I say honor, because even though there is no prize given to recipients, it is an honor to have a fellow blogger recognize the work all of us put into our blogs.

I am going to hereby make my nominations as I fulfill my obligation to pass the honor to 7 other recipients. Keep in mind that you don't have to accept the award, but I hope all will.  I hope to see the spirit of the award passed from blogger to blogger. Keep in mind that it can be any blog, not just fishing.

It is highly encouraged that recipients of blogger awards follow the spirit of sharing with other bloggers. The Versatile Blogger Award requests the following:

  1. Post your acceptance\acknowledgement of the reward on your blog. Adding the image to you overall layout is a nice touch as well.
  2. Tell 10 things about yourself that your readers may not know about you and your blog.
  3. Nominate 7 other blogs for this Versatile Blogger Award. This can be far more of a challenge than one might suspect. Hopefully no one is upset by my selections or non-selections as it were. All of the blogs I follow are pretty fantastic but may or may not be as versatile.
So, without further ado, here are my nominations:

1. The River Damsel: Emily has written about fishing, skiing, frenzies and plain old fashion tips for living well. Judging by the number of followers and comments, folks would agree that Emily is versatile.

2. Mysteries Internal: Whether she is talking fishing, fly tying, life or death; in prose or poetry, Erin says it well. More importantly, she writes it well. Need a quote to match a situation, Erin's got it.

3. Troutrageous!: What can I say about Troutrageous! Mike? Mike writes about everything and anything with a sprinkling of his beautiful daughter Lilly and we all enjoy it.

4. The Catching Chronicles: Trout MaGee brings us experiences and trips along with some really great photography.

5. The Natural's Angle: Jay's blog is truly educational. Mixing up fishing along with his love of nature and those little slimy things that crawl under the porch. I always look forward to a new post from Jay.

6. Mike's gone fishin'...again: Mike is another of those good guys that could write about anything and draw a crowd. Mike does a great job combining life's lessons along with fishing and suddenly things make sense to me.

7.The Fiberglass Manifesto: For me, TFM is the gold standard for blogs. A touch of class along with great reviews, fishing trips and more. Cameron has shown many of us the way and we appreciate it.

I hope we hear from all recipients and I look forward to those 10 things we don't know about you and your blog.

  6. Sorry Erin, you have to stand up and take a bow or curtsy even though I suspect it's against your nature. On another note, my wife said I had to give mine back for accepting it under false pretenses...I'm not versatile, I'm confused.

  8. Thanks, Howard. I would say you are definitely worthy of the versatile award so I, like Erin, would have to give it back to you. Unlike Erin, I could probably think of a few others that are versatile... to say the least.

  13. Erin, each in our own way are very versatile and worthy of an award.

Damsel, by the very nature of your blog you are versatile. You've even learned to laugh a little at yourself. Good job.

Josh, You are one of the masters. If I was able to fish as much and as well as you, I won't find time to blog.
